Don't Miss the Autumn Colours
With autumn well underway, it's the most colourful time of the year to hire a Tramper and enjoy nature's display.
You're spoilt for choice as many of our partner hire locations offer the opportunity to explore woodlands and forests but here are some particular highlights around the area covered by Countryside Mobility:
Batsford Arboretum, Gloucestershire (2 Trampers) – This is the perfect place to see autumn colours at their most spectacular. Their website’s homepage even has a colour gauge to show you where they are up to. Very popular so book well in advance.

Thorncombe Woods/ Hardys Birthplace, Dorset (2 Trampers) – Experience the woodland that inspired much of Hardy’s later writings. Explore this magical combination of mixed woodland and heathland.

National Trust Cotehele (1 Tramper) – Set on the Cornish side of the Tamar Valley, woodlands form a key feature of the estate. One highlight is the Mother Orchard which features a range of more than 125 heritage varieties.

Sutton Park (2 Trampers) – New to Countryside Mobility for 2023, this is one of Europe’s largest urban parks and proves that you don’t need to go deep into the countryside to experience nature. The numerous small lakes (or ‘Pools’) dotted around the Park, make for excellent reflections of the autumn colours.

Forest of Dean (1 Tramper at 2 locations) – Explore this former royal hunting forest which combines nature with hidden heritage. Start from Forest Holidays for a walk through the woods to the popular viewpoint of Symonds Yat Rock or from the famous Speech House Hotel for a choice of walks that take in an arboretum, mining heritage and a lakeside café.

National Trust Fyne Court (1 Tramper) – On the edge of the Quantocks Hills, Fyne Court provides a peaceful haven for wildlife and a choice of waymarked trails around the woodlands. Return to the historic courtyard for a cosy cuppa from the café.
