Northern England (Outdoor Mobility)

Outdoor Mobility

We are delighted to offer members of Countryside Mobility the opportunity to use the new Tramper networks being established in the north of England through our partner charity, Outdoor Mobility.

Originally known as Lake District Mobility and based in Cumbria, the charity there was grown to work with other parts of northern England and, as they use the same hire systems, we are able to offer Countryside Mobility members the chance to use their membership for the growing range of stunning locations in that part of the country.

Outdoor Mobility has a growing number of locations in:

How to Hire at an Outdoor Mobility Hire Location

You must, first of all, contact the Outdoor Mobility office in advance of your visit.

They will be able to arrange a (complimentary) temporary membership for your visit and give you details about how to book the location or locations that you wish to visit.

Background

From 2016 to 2018 we helped support Lake District Mobility establish themselves as a charity and 'sister' network to Countryside Mobility and we were delighted to see their first hire location open in May 2018 at Whinlatter Forest which has proved a very popular facility. In 2019, their second hire location, Langdale Estate, became available with a route of 6 miles available. 2021 saw further expansion - a third location, Grizedale Forest and subsequent years have seen further hire locations added in the Lake District, North Pennines and North York Moors.

Please visit their website to discover more of their inspiring story and hire locations as they are added to the network over time.
