Earlier this week, the training team headed down to the peaceful forest setting of Moors Valley Country Park in Dorset to deliver Disability and Deaf Awareness Training as part of the project's aim to make heritage destinations more accessible.
The Disability Awareness Training included helpful hints across different disabilities, how to make reasonable adjustments, role play scenarios and more.
The Deaf Awareness Training included information on Deaf culture, greetings, communication tips and more.
Karl Prince, Moors Valley Visitor Services Manager said:
“We really enjoyed learning new ways that we can improve what we offer here at Moors Valley Country Park and how best to approach certain situations. All of us felt that Helen, Kristy and her interpreters had a superb delivery style, were really knowledgeable and clearly very passionate about what they do”.
