Managed by Torbay Coast & Countryside Trust, the award winning country park is a paradise for walkers, gardeners, nature lovers and families.
Along with much of Torbay, the country park is part of the UNESCO English Riviera Global Geopark (designated by UNESCO for its stunning geological heritage and landforms).
The all-terrain scooter (known as a Tramper) will help you explore the hillsides of the Country Park to take in panoramic views of Torbay as you explore the woodlands and more formal gardens of the Park. On return there is a great selection of craft studios and cafes to enjoy as well as play areas for children.
Tramper hire is from the new Visitor Centre (number 1 on this interactive map) in the pretty village area of Cockington (not the main house) so the best car park to use is the pay and display Cockington Village car park.
The Visitor Centre is open 10 - 4 (April to October and also during the Feburary half term holidays).
Cockington is a very popular attraction at weekends and during the spring and summer so booking ahead is strongly advised - particularly for first-time users who will need to join Countryside Mobility and be introduced to the Tramper. Contact details are shown below. Leave a voicemail if there is no answer.
The hire fee is £2.50 per hour.
Access in other parts of the property
Cockington Court is wheelchair accessible. Level access is available to the ground floor of the manor house and the craft units in both the Stableyard and Sea Change studios. For access to the first floor of the manor house, please take the path to the left facing the tea rooms, through the rose garden and along the boardwalk.
Assistance dogs are most welcome.
